Wordpress is a well-established content management system which has grown from its origins as a blogging platform into a very flexible framework for building all kinds of web sites.

The Wordpress platform is free, as are a huge number of different themes and plugins.  It is easy to use and to manage.  Wordpress.com will even host your basic site for free as well.

If you need help with a site there are many freelancers and agencies working in the Wordpress ecosystem so you are not tied to any individual company or developer.

If you have your own domain and hosting, most hosting accounts make it very easy to install Wordpress.

Why Pay When WordPress is Free?

Of course you don’t need to pay someone else to build your site.  You can choose a free theme, any free plugins that you like the look of,  check out some of the free block patterns, watch a few WordPress TV videos and build the site yourself.  We even have a free EBook telling you how to plan your web site and where to find other free stuff that will help you build a successful web site.

We are here for when you’ve either outgrown your existing site or when you don’t want to invest the time getting to know WordPress, getting it to do what you want it to do,  or branding and customising your site.

You can see from the WordPress.com Price List that there are limitations to the free hosting plan.  There are also limitations to some plugins, and many plugin developers make their living from developing more advanced paid versions with attractive additional functionality.
