Content Management
Keep them coming back for more
Not getting as many visitors lately?
When was the last time you added fresh content to your website?
Equally important is getting rid of stale content or repurposing it.
Do you want an easy way to bulk upload and edit products to your site?
Let's make content management less of a chore.
Managing your Content
Online brochure sites need little or no changes to their content so can be built as static sites without using a content management system. If you will be posting news articles or your site is selling products via ECommerce, you will need to manage content.
News articles, or blog posts, can be created ahead of time and scheduled for automatic publication on a certain date. For more control, you can use a free plugin like SchedulePress.
If you are using Canva to create social media graphics, you can also send content created in Canva to your WordPress web site.
Blog Posts
Search engine spiders love fresh content. Feed them on a regular basis to keep them coming back for more! If you are using something like Buffer to manage your social media posts, you can send your WordPress blog posts to Buffer. Is your main focus on social media? You can import aggregated social media content into your WordPress site to create a constant flow of fresh content.
One of the things you should check out when choosing the software to create your promotional graphics, is whether you can upload directly to WordPress, social media platforms or to your social media post management system.
Complex Content Management
More complex custom post types, for example entries in a directory or ECommerce products can be managed in several ways. In addition to editing single entries manually, you can also edit some aspects using the built in Bulk Edit mode. Not everything is available to edit in Bulk Edit mode, but you can install plugins that give you more control over bulk editing.
One of then reasons we place a great deal of emphasis on the Discovery phase of your web site design, is so we can provide the best way for you to manage your content.
Content can be managed in bulk using three main approaches; administrative columns, in a spreadsheet view, or using files in csv or xml format.
Bulk Import, Export and Update Content
If you handle a lot of products, orders or other custom content in any quantity, the odds are you already use spreadsheets to do so. Using CSV files with the right plugins means you can upload, update and export products, orders, customers and form data in bulk.
Some plugins, for example WP All Import and some WooCommerce extensions, can also handle XML format. If you work within certain industries or sell affiliate products, you may have data that you want to import or edit using an XML file.
XML is a common format for News Feeds. If industry news is an important aspect of your business, you can import news feeds to create fresh and current articles for your web site.
